The Pottinger TERRADISC compact disc harrow is designed specifically for stubble cultivation and seedbed preparation. Its compact construction and aggressive disc angle position ensure a perfect mixing of harvest residues. Since POTTINGER introduced its disc harrows, thousands have been sold, establishing themselves as an indispensable fixture in shallow stubble and seed bed cultivation. It is now available in 3.0m and 4.0m trailing MULTI-LINE versions for fitting a seed drill on the rear, providing a one pass cultivation and seeding system.
Large 580mm diameter scalloped discs are mounted on twin arms with large rubber suspension blocks which give a higher break out force so the machine can work in harder soil conditions. These also provide protection to the large twin race double sealed disc bearing units ensuring trouble free life and maintenance.
Pottinger offer both fixed width and trailing versions ranging from 3.0m to 6.0m in working width with various rear roller options. Both the Pack-Ring roller or Rubber Packer rollers have proven to be the most popular types which not only help provide a cracking effect and break down of soil clods for a finer seedbed, they also help by pushing the crop stubble into the surface of the soil to speed up the break-down of residue. These rollers also increase moisture retention in the soil by leaving a well consolidated surface.
Hydraulic folding side discs are a standard feature on all linkage mounted and Multi-Line models which allows the operator to fold up the side disc units to reduce overall width in transport. Hydraulic folding trailing models have a unique rear transport wheel chassis system which folds up and over the top of the discs when in working position. This provides more weight over the top of the discs to increase disc weight the aid soil penetration as well as it improves stability of the machine when working at high speeds.
