ORIGIN AGROUP is New Zealand’s only farm machinery cooperative established 15 years ago in 2004 by a group of independent farm machinery retailers with the purpose to import and distribute quality farm machinery to its member shareholders has re-branded its name and logo to ORIGINAG.
“After 15 years it was time to refresh our image with a new modern looking logo and to simplify our name” says David Donnelly, director of ORIGINAG.
“In fact many of our customers and suppliers have been shortening our name to ORIGINAG for some time now” Says David. “The old name was a bit of a mouth full for some, so the new name is a logical step that our customers had already decided for us”.
Over the past 15 years of operation, ORIGINAG has experienced significant growth and has firmly positioned itself and its products on the market. This rapid growth and expansion would not have been achieved by any other business model believes David. “Quite simply, our success is contributed to the fact we adopted a cooperative business model with cooperative principles and ethos which fairly represents the shareholder members and their customers interests.
“Cooperatives are founded on strong values and we put them into practice every day” says David. “Relationships are built on trust and we believe our job is to work together to serve everyone’s needs”. David believes that trust is the glue that holds the member owners of a cooperative together. ” Its vital to the success of ORIGINAG as we create and develop long-term relationships with our customers and suppliers from all around the world”.
“Our objective is to ensure that the customer gets the best possible experience from great equipment with great service and parts. We have just increased our parts stock in our distribution warehouse by over 30 percent to support our customers trust in purchasing our equipment so they can have confidence that we can back them up”.
“Parts and after sales service is vital to contractors and farmers operations and we have a stronger position to support them with all our parts and service located in New Zealand. We are also a smaller hands-on type of company unlike larger organisations. We don’t have a corporate structure so we can react and respond to our customers more quickly which is a big advantage and reason as to why we have experienced the growth we have had”.
ORIGINAG imports its products directly from overseas manufacturers on exclusive distribution agreements; this provides our shareholder members and our customers with a competitive range of quality products.
ORIGINAG distributes many successfully recognised European brands of machinery which include POTTINGER cultivation, seeding and grass harvesting equipment; ALPEGO power harrows, rotary hoes, mulcher’s and subsoilers; MANIP tractor front end loader; BOGBALLE fertiliser spreaders; HATZENBICHER air seeders and tine harrows; JOSKIN slurry tankers, muck spreaders and construction and grain trailers and pasture toppers and GASCON disc harrows and cultivators.
David says the group is poised for further product and distribution expansion but emphasises the fact that ORIGINAG has successfully been here for the past 15 years and will be here for the future.
